Parking Permits

Boone campus parking permits are valid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the exception of football game days and other special events.

2025-26 permits are valid Aug. 16, 2025–Aug. 15, 2026.

  • No permit is required to park on the Boone campus from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays or weekends, except for football game days and other special events.
  • Motorcycle permits are required to park a motorcycle on the Boone campus from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
  • Boone campus permits are valid on the Hickory campus.
  • Hickory campus permits are not valid on the Boone campus. Students and employees must register to park on the Hickory campus.
  • You may register more than one vehicle; however, only one vehicle may be parked on campus at any given time.
  • Permits are valid until canceled.

Your license plate is your permit and must be visible for scanning.

  • Ensure that all license plate numbers are accurate for cars that will be parked on campus when registering for parking.
  • Registered license plates must be visible to the driving path to be scanned — backing into parking spaces and pulling through spaces are not permitted and will result in a citation.
