As you may already know, parking in Boone can be challenging. Please read the tips below to prevent your vehicle from being towed, booted, or ticketed.
Paid Parking Downtown
Parking in downtown Boone is enforced 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday—Saturday. The Town of Boone has installed smart meters for all on-street parking and pay-stations for the King and Depot Street parking lots. Smart meters and pay-stations accept coins, debit, and credit cards. More information, including a map of downtown parking spaces can be found on the Downtown Boone site.
Private Parking Lots
Some parking lots may appear to be public, when in fact they are private. Read all signage in the parking lot to determine what type of lot you are using. Please be aware that when you park in a privately-owned parking area, you run the risk of being towed or booted. This is particularly true for parking lots in close proximity to campus or on the AppalCART routes. Towing and booting expenses can range from $50 to $100, in addition to the inconvenience of being without a vehicle. Please pay close attention to signage when looking for parking.
