Enforcement
Parking permits are enforced starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. in most lots. There are signs posted at the entrance of each lot explaining what permit is needed and what hours it is to be enforced. Our department has traffic officers on duty from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. each weekday. Though permit enforcement ends with the business day our second shift officers stay late to enforce other regulations and help with events.
Paying Your Fine
Students—
Student citations will not be charged to the student account until the fourteen-day appeal window has closed. This prevents students from having to pay an entire fee while waiting for their appeal to be ruled on. Once the appeal window has closed, or the appeal has been ruled on, students can pay their citations online via their Appalnet account using the following procedure:
- Log into Appalnet account.
- Go to Student tab.
- Go to Student Accounts.
- Go to Billing and Payment Center by Touchnet.
- Here you will see your current balance and will be able to follow prompts to make payments.
- Click View Activity to see a charge by charge breakdown of your student account.
Students can also pay their parking fees in person at the student accounts counter located on the second floor of the John E. Thomas (JET) building on Rivers Street.
Faculty/Staff—
All faculty and staff citation charges will be deducted from the employee’s payroll after the fourteen-day appeal window has closed. All faculty and staff permit charges will be deducted monthly from the employee's payroll.
Visitors—
As a courtesy, we waive one citation per person during their visit to our campus. Visitors who received citations during their visit should either mail or bring to our office a copy of the citation, their vehicle registration, and their driver’s license. Once we have recorded this information, we will gladly waive the citation for you. After the first citations, all campus visitors can pay citation fees on the second floor of the John E. Thomas (JET) building at the student accounts counter.
